If a backup report email contains the following:
“The backup encountered a problem during startup: Authentication error”
AND
The error occurs when attempting to backup a schedule (either with ‘Backup Now’ or when the scheduled time comes), even if a manual backup via the “Backup” button on the main client window works fine
There may be an issue with your hosts.agent file.
Navigate to the eSilo, LLC\eSilo Backup\etc folder and check to confirm the hosts.agent file points to the correct eSilo service:
- For users of eSilo Backup Cloud / Hosted: backup.esilo.com:443
- For users of eSilo Backup Server+Cloud / SiloServ / SiloPod: <insert eSilo Server IP Address>:443
